EPC project of the modern ecological irrigation area in Tanglai Canal No. 2 Farm

Project Overview

Tanglai Canal, also known as Tang Canal, was built when Wuzetian ruling the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt by the future generations. It flows northward through Qingtongxia, Yongning, Yinchuan and Helan. With a total length of 322 kilometers and consists of more than 500 large and small channels, it guides the water of the Yellow River to irrigate 900,000 mu of fertile farmlands. It is an important irrigation project in China and one of the world's irrigation engineering heritages.

Project Background/Purpose

According to local actual conditions, Automic has built four monitoring systems, namely flood situation monitoring, water resource monitoring, water environment monitoring and water ecology monitoring, and newly built and replaced a total of 49 independent monitoring sites and 53 integrated monitoring sites. Through the construction of flood dispatching, water resources dispatching, urban water supply, drainage dispatching and river chief management system projects, modernization is realized for original flood storage areas, flood control projects at all levels, culverts and sluices, rubber dams, drainage and irrigation stations and other water conservancy projects.

Project Construction Content

The project adopts the EPC construction model. Automic provides whole-process services including the planning and design of modern irrigated areas, project construction and subsequent operation and maintenance. The construction content includes: the installation of 48 sets of measurement and control integrated gates, 16 sets of measurement and control separated gates, 4 trunk canal water measuring sections and 31 sets of electromagnetic flowmeters, one new construction of No. 3 bridge control gate and 4 control centers of management office, and the updated development and deployment of one irrigated area business management system.

Project Construction Benefits

Through the construction of this project, according to measuring the trunk canal sections with water facilities transformed, the automation rate has reached more than 90% and the irrigation water utilization rate of the trunk canals has been greatly improved. Automation and remote control help improve the management level, save labor costs, save water consumption, promote the mechanism and system reform of the water management department and achieve the merger of sections and offices and the separation of management and maintenance.

Agricultural smart irrigation and production base

Automic provides high-efficiency and energy-saving agricultural smart ecological solutions for customers in the aspects of planning and consulting, product provision, investment and financing, construction, operation and maintenance and big data application services. In order to better serve customers, the Company established an agricultural smart ecological R&D center and a product production base in Yinchuan City in 2018.

The R&D center works closely with such government agencies and scientific research institutes as Chinese National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage, China Water Exchange, Tsinghua University and Ningxia Beidou Data Center. It has established a national-level monitoring and calibration center, a modernized irrigated area big data center and a smart irrigation center. It also has drafted a number of industry standards and local standards in cooperation with the local water conservancy associations.

The production base occupies an area of 12,000 square meters and is equipped with high-standard fully automated assembly lines. It can annually produce 20,000 sets of smart gates of various types, 30,000 sets of irrigation controllers of various types, 50,000 sets of small watering and fertilizing integrated machines, and other agricultural water-saving products such as soil moisture measuring instruments.

A number of agricultural water-saving products independently developed by the Company have been recommended by the Science and Technology Promotion Center of the Ministry of Water Resources, the National Office of Water Conservation, the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, and the Chinese National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage for many consecutive years. The products have been on the List of Key Procurements of Tender Products by National Water Conservancy System for years.

The Company received experts, scholars, government leaders and friends from all walks of life to visit, inspection and work guidance for many times.
